Man City preview: Are we up for it?

A massive game today, nevertheless put into context after Spurs, Manutd and Southampton won yesterday.

Should we lose, it would once again send us spiralling down into that abyss of frustration and discontent amongst the supporters. But should we win, it would surely answer all the critics of us being unable to win a big side away.

Some of us who abhor Chelsea would definitely want us to screw up today to allow Mancity to keep apace with the cunts but no way. No way. What’s the point in that anyway? It’s about time we right the wrongs and focus on our season.

Definitely, coming into such a big, massive crunch game like this, stats would be exploding all over the place. 16 games against the likes of Manutd, Chelsea and Mancity has brought us 0 wins. That’s poor and frankly abysmal for a club of such great ambition and prowess of Arsenal but its high-time we put an end to that and why not? We have in our team the League’s best player in the form of Alexis Sanchez, as I touched on yesterday. Here’s what Wenger made of the game:

“How do we get it right? By defending well as a team, by getting the balance right in the structure of the team from the start, and by putting the effort in when you lose the ball to help each other.”

That arguably, was the most important thing that he mentioned yesterday, and will be imperative today. Defending, concentration and focus. If you look back at the draw earlier on, it was just wasteful and shambolic defending which made us implode, allowing them to equalise with some quite awful defending. If we can defend like we can actually know how to defend and keep them out, then I see no reason why we can’t stand a chance in this game with the threat that we pose offensively and on the counter. However, if we decide to majorly fuck up defensively and ship in goals like how Terry fucks around with women, I’m afraid there would be a massive Arsenal firedrill.

It will be interesting to see how we will lineup in this one, i suspect Ospina will keep his place in goal, Chambers coming in for Debuchy with the excellent Monreal keeping his place. In midfield, thats where the ambiguity arises. Does he stick Coq and Rosicky? Or does he go with the defensive axis of Coq and Flamini? Or the balanced midfield of Coq and Ramsey? I suspect its the last option, as it gives us better stability defending and attacking, but it will be interesting nevertheless. Upfront, Cazorla definitely retains his no.10 spot, Sanchez will be on the left and Ox on the right with Giroud spearheading the attack.

With such an important titanic clash today, we will have to put it an immaculate performance today to achieve anything from the game. Are we up for the it?

Come on you gunners.
